In Between Border closures.
It was great to be back in Broken Hill again. My last wedding there was for Hayley & Raymonds Wedding in 2018 (click here). With a destination wedding in the Philippines postponed due to covid; Meg & Aydens wedding was probably as close as I was going to get to a destination wedding for 2020. But I’m not complaining! Every time I come up to Broken Hill I just fall in love with the place just that much more.
Meg & Ayden’s Broken Hill Wedding Story
Growing up in a country town means that the chances of knowing someone are pretty high and that was the case for Meg & Ayden.
Meg & Ayden’s grandfathers were close friends whilst Meg & Ayden grew up, meaning Meg & Ayden have known one another for many years. They had come across each other through various sporting avenues in their teens, however, it wasn’t until 2014 that it was the beginning.
Meg & Ayden have shared many adventures together, helping each other through the highs and lows that life brings whilst supporting each other and growing into the people they are today.
At the end of 2017, they bought a house together, and from that day forward they have been turning a house into their home together.
Planning a wedding during a global pandemic was a difficult task, however, Meg & Ayden had set their date in early 2020 and that’s the date they were keeping.
Living in the isolated town of Broken Hill had its challenges when planning. With the borders closed between SA & NSW, it meant a lot of their planning and organizing had to be done online with the brides and bridesmaid’s dresses, shoes, and accessories all being purchased online.
The couple had the difficult task of many family and friends not being able to attend due to the border closures, as well as having to reduce their wedding guest list due to social distancing and venue regulations. Despite the adversities they faced, Meg & Ayden were committed to each other in sharing the most magical day they could and it sure was a magical wedding to remember.
