A new Devine Photography website!

A fresh new Devine Photography website.

Website updates are something that I’ve always found scary…I’m virtually html illiterate so whenever there’s new update in the back end I’m always wondering if something is going to break. At launch of Devine Photography on WordPress in 2013, it was 2 weeks working every night, fine tuning with a lot of trial and error. This latest update was something that was well overdue for Devine Photography. Thankfully over the past few years things have improved in the WordPress arena and updating the website this time was a piece of cake in comparison. The new theme layout is simpler and quicker and a bit more visual than the last. There are still a few more tweaks to be made but I’m wondering…why I didn’t update earlier.

Other New Developments

In-House Printing comes to Devine Photography

Something that I’ve been wanting to do for quite awhile is now becoming a reality. Prints! I will touch more on this in my next post but after trailing a few giveaway prints this is something that is a must have for Devine Photography. It’s true that in photography you never see the full picture until it is in print. No more worrying about color calibration! Yayy! Print pricing will be announced in the coming weeks.

Drone Photography; Introducing the DJI Phantom 4 Pro

Drone Photography is another area that I’ve pursuing of late with the arrival of my DJI Phantom Pro 4. It’s an amazing piece of equipment that I’m eager to put to good use in the coming months. However with the current web of regulations in place I won’t be able to offer Aerial drone photography for weddings until current laws catch up with the technology. It’s an unfortunate truth that in this day and age technological developments are happening way too fast for laws to keep pace. It’s a matter of watch this space for now. To find out more about the rules governing Drone’s or Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) you can check it out here.

Move over Canon, hello Sony!

It’s official the love affair with Canon is finally over. After nearly 6 years of using the Canon 5D system it was time to move to the next generation of Cameras. As much as the 5Dmk4 is a fantastic piece of hardware it was simply not enough for me to consider the upgrade. The Sony A7RII has my heart for now and it has clearly shown the direction that camera hardware is going. Checkout Kai Wong’s awesome review here.

The Epson Pano Awards 2017

Ok it’s a long shot but I did enter the Epson Pano awards with a Wedding Panorama from Renee & George’s Wedding in 2016. I’ll post more about this in an upcoming blog post. Click here to find out more about the Epson Pano Awards.

Winter is coming.

For wedding photographers June officially marks the end of wedding season and is an important time for us to catch up on loose ends. And to reflect on the season that was and to begin planning for the year ahead. Luckily for me there is one more wedding to do before the end of June. This time at the newly renovated Mt Lofty House. Cant wait! Don’t forget I’m still taking booking over the winter period so if you have a wedding planned for Winter 2018 drop me a line at my enquires page where you can submit your query at the bottom.
