Clint & Renee’s Summer wedding in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens
Summer weddings can be an interesting mix for me as a photographer. I love that the season creates relaxed vibes and attire, open air receptions and late sunsets. While at the same time I always dread seeing the mercury going above 35 degrees. Which usually means plenty of sunscreen and sweat, fluid replenishment and hot car seats. While the day started off hot for Renee & Clint, by late afternoon a cool change which swept through during the ceremony gave everyone a chance to cool off and enjoy the rest of the ceremony and reception in mild comfort.
Morning Preparations
For the morning preparations, my second shooter, Jason, covered Clint’s pre-wedding preparations, capturing some important moments with his daughters. Meanwhile, I covered the preparations of Renee and her girls. Renee’s dress was a stunning Zavana Courtire design supplied by Jenny & Gerry’s, with alterations done by Michelle’s Custom Design and Alterations giving her the perfect fit. Emily Schmidt did hair and makeup. While Renee’s maid of honour, Jenny Criddle, from Paint it Black Hair styled Renee’s hair. Stephanie Frost prepared Renee’s beautiful flowers for the final touch. The couple’s two German Shepherds were also present during the preparations, resulting in some memorable fur baby photos.
Adelaide Botanic Gardens Wedding Ceremony
Renee and Clint exchanged their vows in the Economic Gardens Precinct, located within the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. Christine Trentwith officiated the ceremony, and Adelaide Botanic Gardens Weddings & Events provided chairs and umbrellas for the occasion.
After the ceremony, the wedding party and guests gathered for a group photo in front of the historic glass house at Botanic Gardens. Renee & Clinton had their formal couple photos taken amidst the surroundings of the Botanic Gardens and along Plane Tree Drive, which led to Adelaide Zoo, where they hosted their reception.
Reception at the Adelaide Zoo
Renee and Clints reception took place at The Sanctuary, located inside Adelaide Zoo. The Sanctuary in Adelaide Zoo provided a relaxed open-air space for guests to mingle and roam. Clinton and Renee had also arranged for a feeding session with the zoo’s giraffes, somewhat making them unofficial guests of the reception.
Following the giraffe feeding, Renee and Clint caught up with their wedding guests and shared their first dance under festoon lights. Music and entertainment was presented by Robbie Holms & Lee Vanderhook. After the conclusion of the reception, the couple had a chance for some night photography while en route to their hotel accommodation at the Crowne Plaza.
